Having worked in business with my husband for many years I had reached a stage in my life where I realised if I didn’t take action to regain my own identity, sense of self-worth and financial independence I would be full of regrets later in life. My life needed to be more balanced as I had become completely consumed in the business and had little time for anything else, including quality time with my children. But I questioned what new career path could I take and how I could achieve this without our current business suffering – then I was introduced to John Harris of SMI by a mutual friend.

Following the SMI program was like a breath of fresh air – it opened up all the excitement, determination and imagination I possessed in my ‘career days’ and taught me how to apply them not only to my career goals but to many other areas of my life. By the time I reached lesson 4 a plan had evolved in my head which really motivated me – it pushed all the right buttons – my own business that was flexible enough to give me time with my family, still enable me to spend time in the family business, give me some financial independence and, best of all, it utilised skills I already had so with the help of SMI I was able get it up and running in no time at all. Of course I had set backs, negative comments and own self doubt, but I followed the SMI program, setting goals, learning techniques for over coming obstacles, measuring achievements and with each small success my confidence grew. On particularly challenging days I would listen to the SMI CD to boost my morale.

4 months down the line my business is going from strength to strength, the website is active and through regular networking and careful goal planning I am slowly but surely gaining clientele. In additional to this some major achievements have been made in my personal life – including overcoming some huge hurdles I was experiencing with a property I own abroad and my son excelling at his new school. And for the future … next month sees the arrival of a new car, this was a long outstanding dream that I simply transferred to my SMI goal planner.

SMI is truly an attitude changing experience, it is life long and applies to all areas of a person’s life, I embarked on the SMI journey with one focus in mind only to find it opened up endless possibilities.
